Families for Children Adoption are delighted to be hosting a training symposium with Dr Margot Sunderland on Friday 15 May 2015 at Dartington Hall, Dartington, Devon on The Neuroscience of Fostering and Adoption.

Dr Margot Sunderland is the author of over twenty books in the field of child mental health including The Science of Parenting.   She is a world renowned expert in the area of neuroscience and attachment, with a particular ability to make these complex subjects accessible to others.

This Symposium has been constructed to appeal specifically to those involved in adoption and fostering, and has been structured in a way that will make the subject applicable to children at all developmental stages including adolescence.   It will combine theory and practice, leaving professionals (including adopters and foster carers) with practical solutions to some of the challenges that children bring when they have experienced poor parenting in early life.

Who should attend:

Social workers, managers and practitioners in local authority adoption, fostering and childcare teams, from voluntary adoption agencies and independent fostering providers, independent reviewing officers, adoption and fostering panel members, CAFCASS children’s guardians, child psychologists, adopters and foster carers.

Tickets                  £120.00

Limited amount of Concessions available at £90 for professionals from Plymouth, Devon and Torbay local authorities.

The cost includes ploughman’s lunch, afternoon cream tea, regular tea and coffee breaks.
